9/4/08 | Etowah @ West JV (Home) | ETOWAH: 0 | West JV: 19 |
Coach's Comments: Etowah has a quality program. They had big, strong athletic kids who played hard. I am
pleased with the results. Our JV did a great job in all three aspects of the game, but what really gets the staff excited
is the fact that they work hard all week running scout team for the varsity starters. They are an extension of the varsity
and are equally important to the success of the program. I look forward to working with them each day. They
are great young men. |

9/11/08 | West JV @ Sequoyah | West JV:
30 | SEQUOYAH: 24 |
Coach's Comments: Down
24-6 at half time, our JV scored 24 unanswered points and rallied to defeat host Sequoyah 30-24 and start the season
2-0. Our defense led by Trevor Evans, Taylor Trupia,, T. Andre Ingram, and Reese Thompson tightened up the 2nd half
and shut down the high powered offense of the Chiefs. "Last year, our Freshmen team had a difficult game with
Sequoyah, so this game was the redemption needed by many on this year’s JV squad” said Coach Albritton. “ We
finally put the pieces together in the fourth quarter and took care of business, playing Wolverine football” claimed
Albritton. Precision
tosses from QB Will Canedy and quick bursts from running backs Tyler Lott, Colton Cloud, and Brandon Keith led the offensive
display that fueled the victory. |

9/18/08 | Forsyth Central vs West JV (Home) | FCHS: 12
| West JV: 35 |
Coach's Comments: Our JV’s took advantage of a great team effort to led us to a 35-12 win over cross town
rival Forsyth Central. Coach Albritton challenged the players pregame “to leave no doubt as to who was the better team”,
and they responded. The offense was led by the Cole Carter to Adam Bettis passing/receiving combo and BJ Tovar chipped in
with some strong gains on the ground. The defense limited the Bulldogs to only 12 points and were led by defensive end, Kyle
England and linebacker Joe Carnaroli. |

9/25/08 | West JV @ North Forsyth | West JV: 6 | NFHS: 8 |
Coach's
Comments: Our JV put up a hard fight but could not overcome key penalties and fumbles in losing
to cross county rival North Forsyth Raiders 8-6. |
|
10/2/08 | West JV @ Creekview | West JV: 14
| Creekview: 16 |
Coach's Comments: The JV lost to host Creekview last week in a close contest, 16-14. Coach
Albritton said that his players battled right to the end. “Our kids showed heart and desire against a talented and well
coached Creekview team and made the concluding minute a thrill ride of emotions”. The Grizzlies went ahead early in
the game and held on to the win despite a Wolverine TD in the final minute of play. We tried a 2pt conversion, a pass to try
to tie it up, but it fell incomplete. |
