UGA Spring Football Practice
Coach Hepler, his family, Wolverine staff members and future Wolverine players visited The University
of Georgia on Wednesday to watch the Bulldogs spring football practice. Among the highlights of this trip were visits
to the UGA athletic academic center, the athletic training facility and, of course, the football practice. All were
treated to and impressed by a personal tour of the athletic facility and weightroom. Jeffrey Owens, former standout
high school athlete for Coach Hepler and current starting defensive lineman at UGA, enthusiastically pointed out the three
most important components of a successful future career. Jeff said that attention to academics, dedication to off-season
conditioning and hard work on the field at West are the three main ingredients towards making each athlete successful and
leading towards future post high school athletic opportunities. Additionally, Jeff stressed that following Coach Hepler's
advice on and off the field will definitely help each athlete move on to the college level. After all, it worked for
him. Coach Hepler plans future trips to UGA and other colleges and pro facilities where he knows many of the coaching
staffs personally and looks forward to taking as many athletes as possible with him in the future.
